Artist’s Statement

In New Zealand, we are defined by our unique environment.  

Born in Napier, as a child my family holidays were spent tramping and camping throughout New Zealand. The first seeds for my painting were sown amidst those glorious sunsets, mountains and beaches. Since then, I have been immersed in an array of magical and inspiring vistas, constantly inspiring my passion to translate their beauty through art.

As an exploration of these landscapes, my paintings are semi-abstract, an exploration of colour and light using both emotive and pictorial elements. I am based in Warkworth and have been been painting and sculpting for 15 years.
